Fimpec – a pioneer in project management and clean transition projects

The company has been involved in significant projects, such as the bioproduct mills in Kemi and Äänekoski, as well as Finland's first industrial-scale green hydrogen production plant in Harjavalta. As a promoter of clean transition, Fimpec is also the developer of Finland's first hydrogen filling station in Jyväskylä.

Fimpec's role in wind and solar energy projects is constantly growing. The company is involved in several projects aimed at producing low-emission energy efficiently and sustainably.

Fimpec has continued to grow strongly in recent years, both domestically and internationally. The company has strengthened its services through acquisitions, one of the most significant of which was the purchase of Byggnadsekonomi Oy. The deal brought Fimpec additional expertise in information modeling, cost management, and time management.

The company aims to double its turnover over the next five years. Growth will be sought mainly organically, but also through new acquisitions where possible.

"Finnish project management is highly regarded around the world. Projects in South America have been successfully completed, and international projects are now underway in Germany, Sweden, and Estonia," says CEO Mikko Turunen.

Fimpec has grown steadily regardless of economic conditions, which is a testament to its strong market position and committed staff. Fimpec's expertise has earned well-deserved recognition, and in 2023, the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce awarded the company the prestigious Maineteko maailmalla (Making a Name in the World) award.

The Central Finland Chamber of Commerce has awarded the 2023 The World Achievement Award to Fimpec PMO Oy. The prize is awarded annually to a Central Finnish company that has grown successfully and brought local expertise to the international market. Fimpec has done just that – built an impressive growth story based on strong project management skills and expertise in renewable energy.

"It is wonderful to present this award to a company from Central Finland whose expertise is bringing solutions for building a low-emission future around the world," says Antti Määttä, then Chairman of the Central Finland Chamber of Commerce.

Fimpec specializes in project management and construction, and its experts work on significant investment projects in the industrial and energy sectors as well as in the real estate and infrastructure sectors.

Internationality is at the core of the company: Fimpec has subsidiaries in Chile, Germany, and Uruguay, as well as an office in Sweden. However, its roots are in Jyväskylä, where the company was founded in 2009 based on an idea by six friends. Today, Fimpec PMO employs nearly 200 experts, and approximately 30 percent of its turnover comes from international projects.

"Fimpec is not only an impressive growth story, but also an excellent example of international-level expertise in Central Finland," emphasizes Regional Director Pekka Hokkanen.
